The Lawyer Referral Service is a consultation service made available through the Law Society of the Yukon. The contact number for the Lawyer Referral Service is (867) 668-4231. The Service maintains lists of lawyers according to specific areas of practice.

In addition to contacting the Lawyer Referral Service directly, you may contact YPLEA in order to obtain the names of lawyers from these lists. In order to actually use the service you must first obtain a Referral Certificate from the Law Society of the Yukon by contacting their office at (867) 668-4231. This will allow you to contact the lawyer of your choice from the list of lawyers who provide the particular service you may be interested in. You may then have a half hour consultation with that lawyer for the limited fee of $30. If you wish to retain the lawyer after that initial interview, the fee and retainer arrangements are a private matter between you and that lawyer.

This service is only intended to have the lawyer tell you whether or not you need a lawyer to deal with the problem you have. The lawyer will not complete legal work for you nor is that lawyer responsible for taking any further action after the consultation.
